Baby Quilt

This is an old quilt I made for my best friend's baby and is the hardest, longest project I ever did. There was a lot of work involved in that and I didn't really know what I was doing. I think I watched a whole season of 24 whilst stitching this. It's a traditional Durham baby quilt and I just thought I'd put it up for posterity.

That looks really special. Where did you find the pattern? How big is it?

Gorgeous, absolutely love it! But where on earth did you find the patience to finish it? Would love to try making one for my coming arrival, but not sure I'd ever make it to the end.

It did take an age to do but the finished thing is so lovely it was well worth it. Plus all mums cry when you give it to them. The good thing about it is that you can do it AND watch TV at the same time. Could life be any more perfect.

Simon, the pattern came from a 'Beginners quilt book'. I can post up a link to it if you want.

Oh yeah, please post a link to the book. Was gonna attempt crotcheting a baby blanket, but think that's even more work... and you end up spending a fortune on the wool.

Seriously thinking about attempting to make a quilt. Any tips appreciated, cheers!
