Christmas wrapping

Xmas Wrapping

So this year's theme was red. It wasn't quite so labour intensive as previous years as I bought the labels instead of making them and it was pretty simple overall.

I did make name labels for some of them though.

I was going to freehand machine sew everyone's names onto Kunan Felt and cut them into circles but it took me so long to get one right that I knew I would run out of both felt and time.

I think the birds were the best bit, plus the felt string which I didn't have very much of.

This year, my xmas wrap was based on gold and yellow. Not as flamboyant as some years.

Xmas Wrapping

This year's wrapping was inspired by a blog I saw that I can't remember right now. I'll put up a link when I find it again. I made bags from interfacing using red zigzag stick on the sewing machine, then tied them with butchers/bakers twine. I got some really thick stuff off the internet which is great! I bought some really thick red felt from Paperchase and cut out letter name tags then tied German cake decorations to the knots.

Dayglo Wrapping

I decided that neon wrapping would be a good idea for a tenth birthday full of Superman and Batman

Christmas Wrapping

So a recap over 2005, 2006, 2007 and now onto 2008. This year it was a golden boroque theme with huge bows made from a selection of theatrical material from SoHo. Broadwick Silks for a little bit of dupion, Borovicks for the rest, plus some Paperchase ribbons and some giant golden acorn bells I found in a bargain bucket the first day I went xmas shopping.
