So I have been absent for a long time. I think moving house, renovating and lockdown all took a front seat and instagram just became easier. But this year I thought I'd bring it back this blog as I miss being able to look back through it. I half thought Blogger might be dead, but no, it still going.
I look back at the last post and I achieved NOTHING on that list. So yeah, maybe goals and achievements and intentions should all be taken with a pinch of salt. Life is tough and just getting out of bed in the morning and saying goodbye to my slippers is achievement enough.
That said, when I think about things that would be nice to do in 2026, just finishing things would be grand. So I have just picked out five things, in no particular order. It seemed less daunting.
1. Batik log cabin
Back this old log cabin pattern of mum's which I sewed in 2017! It's been sitting around ever since. I have the backing all ready to go. I just need to lay it out and baste it.
2. 30's Pinwheels
You can't really see the fine white quilting around all the pinwheels. I'm not sure I should have bothered! The snowball blocks are already embroidered so I have left them blank. There really is little to do. I just need to finish it off!

I really hate this part. All the blocks are stuck with the wrong glue. It keeps ripping the fabric. I just keep putting it off. I did replace a lot of the most ruined blocks last year. It was pretty deflating, so I just put it all away again. But I know I need to do it. I just need to get a grip!
I have all the bits to construct the backing. I might bump this up the top of the queue as I just love this quilt.

5. Sew Be Quilt
My most recent make. I am so near the end! I am trimming the edges today. The fabric is so soft and scrunchy. I really should have ironed and starched it. The back is a real mess of wrinkles. Never again will I use dressmaking cotton for a backing. Well, without starch. But it will be soft and no one will see the wrinkles.
