Christmas Wrapping

Wrapping 2013 2013 is a huge improvement on 2012 but still not up to my usual standard. I don't even remember last year's attempt. I probably didn't buy anybody anything. I was still in such a zonked out baby haze. I am pretty pleased with my comeback fat robins from Paperchase though. Three for two which was not a bad offer. I have done robins before but these ones are better as they have scarves! At least it's all done now and I can sit back and relax. Just got to write all these xmas cards now...

Christmas wrapping

Xmas Wrapping

So this year's theme was red. It wasn't quite so labour intensive as previous years as I bought the labels instead of making them and it was pretty simple overall.

I did make name labels for some of them though.

I was going to freehand machine sew everyone's names onto Kunan Felt and cut them into circles but it took me so long to get one right that I knew I would run out of both felt and time.

I think the birds were the best bit, plus the felt string which I didn't have very much of.

Xmas Wrapping

This year it was bags and spots. Last year was period drama purity. The year before was glam opulence. This year was more sweet shop. The bags were bought for the stall. If anyone needs any bags, I've got a hundred. A quick hour with the John Bull printing kit and behold, you have instant Christmas spirit. I thought this was a good use for them.

Christmas Wrapping

Finally blogger has upgraded my blog. It looks exactly the same to me. I hope it all works okay.

Anyhow i've been thinking about how to wrap my presents this year. I like wrapping. In fact it's one of the few things I can honestly say I am not bad at. I think it's a combination of having a mother who taught me the indepth skill of sticky back plasticing all my school books from an early age, being a virgo and studying packaging design at college.

People in my family can get quite into the whole Christmas wrapping thing. It started with my mum using her crazy thick multicoloured wools to wrap presents then kicked up a gear when my sister did hers in brown paper and gold thread one year. And everyone remembers the year she had these huge pink furry pipecleaners she twisted into cork screws, it was a hard act to follow.

So this year I decided to do some white flowers to put round my presents which will be wrapped in white tissue paper. I'll see if I can dig out some pictures of previous years to show you the 'Themes'. Last year was purple thick ribbon, purple glittery humming birds, black shiny paper and ornate long labels with white writing. Here's a bad photo, you can't see much though.
